The President of The National Bowling Association has recently announced a “spiritual” addition to the Administrative team.
Reverend Adrienne Hal, President of the Greater Richmond Bowling Senate, has been appointed the Official Chaplain of The National Bowling Association, Inc. In Dr. Boykins’ announcement, he states, “Reverend Hal will provide a vital role and continue history of TNBA's Christian legacy of bowling fellowship”.
Adrienne (as she prefers to be called), received and accepted her call into the ministry in 2000, and was Ordained on January 11, 2009. She was licensed to preach at the St. James Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia, where she currently serves as an Associate Minister and the Minister of Praise and Worship.
Rev. Hal received her formal education from the Henrico County School System, Virginia Union University; Central Texas College and graduated from San Francisco School of Travel. She is also a graduate of the Evans Smith Training Institute at Virginia Union University, with certificates in Religious Studies and Preaching Proclamation Preparation. In her professional capacity, Adrienne is a Certified Travel Consultant with AAA Mid-Atlantic and the Retail Office Manager of the Richmond Southside Branch. She also serves on various community associations, and is currently the President of the Minister’s Conference of Goochland and Vicinity, where they will be celebrating 35 years of service in November.
Rev. Hal is the oldest of three children to James and Mary Herbin, Sr., who are also TNBA members. She is married to Robert Hal, and is the mother of 3 children, and became a first-time grandmother to Jamia Michelle Allen, in December 2010.
An avid bowler, since she was a child, she is proud of her career high game “300,” and career high series “768.” Even with her busy schedule she still manages to bowl 2 nights a week.
Rev. Hal lives her life by two of her favorite scriptures: Isaiah 40:31, “But they that wait upon the Lord, shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings of eagles, they shall run, and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint” …..and Psalms 91:1, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
It is Rev. Hal’s desire is to remain a humble servant unto the Lord in all that she does, and that everyone that she comes in contact with will see the Glory of the Lord in the way that she walks and talks. In her new appointment, she will most certainly bring that message to the TNBA table, where we will all feast, “rejoicing and be glad in it.”
TNBA Family…… open your arms and give a BIG TNBA welcome to Rev. Adrienne Hal, as she assumes her new role.
